CISMCARE provides one common access point where we can instantly learn about events requiring CISM intervention and where we can document our training and time spent on CISM activities. Canadian North 

Canadian North and its founding Companies have been serving the north for 75 years. We have a reliable fleet of Boeing 737-200 Combi and Dash 8 aircraft that fly into some of the harshest environments and most remote communities in Canada.

When it was determined that our Emergency Response Program needed updating, we turned to CISMCARE for the solutions. Its co-founder and Managing Director, Janet Dean had earned the trust and respect of her colleagues, ten years earlier, as the Critical Incident Stress Management Team Leader for Canadian Airlines International, one of Canadian North’s founding companies. In a matter of weeks our key team members were trained to use the CISMCARE software and we were soon populating our website with our Emergency Response Program.

Among the most valuable (and painful!) lessons learned in my twelve years’ experience of preparing for and responding to mass disasters is that: Effectively responding includes helping those affected by the event AND managing the associated information. Thus, in preparing to establish Emergency Management Excellence (EME) in late 2006, we knew that development or procurement of a web-based information system that would support an array of preparedness and response functions would be necessary.

Fortunately, we became aware of CISMCARE and even more fortuitously, met the professionals who developed this highly-flexible and user-friendly tool. The developers’ willingness to refine the product to better meet our needs was amazing and their commitment to client satisfaction is truly exemplary.
